The talents within the Benny Hollman Big Band are comprised of some of the finest musicians in Southern California. They have performed, backed and/or recorded with such great artists as Frankie Laine, Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, The Temptations, Englebert Humperdink, The Four Tops, Johnny Mathis, Steve Allen, Bob Hope, Smokey Robinson and so many other great stars.
Today the band will feature a few of the outstanding soloists in its ranks. Gary Lefebvre will show his improvising prowess as he used to with the great Stan Kenton Orchestra. Frank LaMarca, noted for being one of the outstanding soloists in Southern California, with Carlos Vasquez on drums and Dwight Stone on bass, are always in demand for recording sessions. Scott Kyle, a San Diego favorite, will display the warmth and fire of the trombone. The lead trumpet responsibilities go to the man who makes it all sound so easy – Brad Steinwehe.
