Rotary Club of La Jolla focuses on education, including scholarships to help students from local high schools attend college, scholarships for students in a San Diego remedial high school striving to complete their high school years, and scholarships to help superior students in poor communities in Tijuana, Mexico enter secondary schools and achieve education through the 12th grade.

La Jolla Rotary Club’s Florence Riford Community Fund at The San Diego Foundation - In 1989, Rotary Club of La Jolla established Florence Riford Community Fund in honor of Florence S. Riford, the first woman member of the Club. The purpose of this fund is to further worthwhile activities, other than scholarships, in the La Jolla Community. The assets of the fund are administered by San Diego Community Foundation. Grants are made from the earnings of the fund under the direction of a committee comprised of five members of Rotary Club of La Jolla and two other members from the community.

Music Performance Fund - Headquartered in New York City, MPF is the world's largest sponsor of live, admission-free musical programs. Last year, MPF presented over 10,000 performances to the people of the United States and Canada. Millions of people in major U.S. and Canadian cities and villages enjoyed instrumental music of high quality without having to buy a ticket or belong to an organization in order to gain admittance.
