La Jolla Concerts By the Sea 2016 Season Closes…
Is It Our Last Or Can It Be Saved?

#SaveLaJollaConcerts

IF this past Sunday was our last show…ever, it’s safe to say things ended with a bang, not a whimper. La Jolla Concerts favorites, The Heroes, once again blew our audience away with their energetic show and talent…every song filling the dance floor with smiling faces dancing under a beautiful La Jolla sunny sky. Our audience loved the music and let the band know it!

THE HEROES:

Amber Lee Duke – Vocals
Shawna Bergstrom – Vocals
Laymon Davis – Bass Guitar & Vocals
Mark Moorhead – Keyboards & Vocals
Val Kostadinov – Guitar & Vocals
Arthur Fischer – Sax, Flute, Percussion & Vocals
Tom Boyd – Drums & Vocals

We couldn’t have asked for a better end to our 2016 season…and, possibly, our last show. As many of you already know, due to a number of factors, chief amongst these being a shortage of adequate sponsorship support along with the City of San Diego recently tripling our fees, we find ourselves at the brink. La Jolla finds itself facing the very real likelihood that this institution, bringing family-friendly free concerts for music lovers of all styles and ages since 1984, will be gone.

What we really need is one community-minded corporate hero to step up and add their name and financial support to save our Concerts. It’s a great way to garner excellent name recognition and community gratitude as “The Company That Saved the Concerts!”

The Heroes did an exceptional job of underscoring just what an awful shame it would be if we, La Jolla, were to lose this fun community summer tradition. Sadly, it would be yet one more fond memory of a La Jolla past we would fondly remember and regretfully miss.

If you didn’t get a chance to be there Sunday, here’s a taste of what we enjoyed!
