Born in old Scripps Hospital on Prospect St. (in La Jolla), native son Mark Stuart is the singer, songwriter & founder of the critically acclaimed band Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, described by Rolling Stone as “pure Americana heart and soul.” (He was given permission to use the band’s name by Johnny Cash himself!)

Stuart has shared the stage with such notables as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Willie Nelson & George Jones. A multiple San Diego Music Awards winner and creative force on the Alt Country/American Music scene for the last 15 years, Stuart is a passionate advocate of keeping the sounds & traditions of American Music alive, while doing his best to stretch the boundaries.
